Federal Parent Loan for Graduate Students (Grad PLUS)


 

Type of aid:

Loan – must be repaid

Interest charged:

8.5% fixed, effective July 1st 2006

Award amounts:

Cost of Attendance minus all other aid

Enrollment required:

Half time (5 graduate credit hours) minimum

 

Grace Period:

None, repayment begins within 60 days of disbursement

 

Academic level:

Graduate or professional degree seeking students

 

Payment process:

Paid to your school account if sent by Electronic Funds Transfer by your bank. If sent as a paper check, you must endorse the payment at the Office of the Controller

 

Costs it can cover:

Any educational expenses

 

Paperwork required:

FAFSA and documents requested to complete your aid file

Grad PLUS Application Form (for school initiated process)

 

Special rules:     

Must apply for annual loan maximum for subsidized and unsubsidized Stafford loans
