Use the timeline below to make sure you are taking the right steps financially.
- Apply for admission. Different programs have different deadlines and requirements.
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is available as of January 1 for U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents. ISU's school code is 001807.
- Loan notifications are mailed via regular postal service. You also can review your
financial aid status on the MyISU Portal.
- Complete your Master Promissory Note and Entrance Counseling if you are a first-time borrower of
loans.
- Assistantships and merit-based awards are typically offered on a rolling basis over the summer by academic departments.
You also can look for part-time jobs on campus by visiting Student Employment.
- Approximately 10 days prior to beginning term, aid will disburse to your ISU student account. If you are expecting a refund, sign up for direct deposit of refunds.
- On the first day of class, Bursar bills are due for students who are already enrolled. Be sure to pay online by the due date.
