First-time borrowers of Federal Direct loan programs must sign a Master Promissory Note (MPN) as well as complete an Entrance Counseling Session, two documents in which the lender communicates rights, responsibilities, loan terms, and obligations to the borrower.
Federal Perkins Loan borrowers must complete a Master Promissory Note in person at the Office of the Controller after the student registers for the term.
The Master Promissory Note (MPN) and Entrance Counseling may be completed online at http://studentloans.gov
This process requires the borrower's social security number and a Federal Student Aid PIN. To request a new or duplicate PIN visit www.pin.ed.gov
Please allow approximately 30 minutes to complete the session.
