ROBERT E. PACE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS
IN ANTHROPOLOGY
Indiana State University, Department of Geography, Geology and
Anthropology
offers a series of scholarships to anthropology majors through the
Robert E. Pace Memorial Scholarship fund. Up to five
$1000 scholarships are available for the Fall of 2003. Recipients
must be:

an anthropology major, or specifically plan
to be;
-
have a serious interest in a professional
career within anthropology, and must have
-
maintained a GPA of 3.0 or better for the
semester or term preceding the award. Renewal of awards will be based
upon the above criteria, and active participation in departmental
activities.
Scholarship awards are made on a competitive basis for the academic year,
and may be renewed for no more than three succeeding years.
To apply: submit a transcript for the preceding semester
and a letter indicating your professional career goals to the Scholarship
Committee (c/o Dr. C. Russell Stafford), Anthropology Laboratory,
Holmstedt Hall Rm 105, Indiana State University, Terre Haute, IN 47809.
Applications should be submitted by April 1, 2003 to insure full
consideration.
$1500 Research Scholarships
are also available for junior or senior anthropology majors. Applicants
must meet the above requirements and in addition develop a Senior Thesis
topic with a faculty advisor in the Department. An in-depth analysis is
conducted and a paper approved by the thesis committee is submitted to
fulfill the scholarship requirements. See Dr. Stafford for further details
