Scholarship Name: Akhtar H. Siddiqi Memorial Scholarship
Description: The family of Dr. Akhtar H. Siddiqi established an endowment scholarship fund to be administered by Indiana State University Foundation, Inc., for the benefit of a worthy student, or students, enrolled at Indiana State University.
Open To:  Graduate Student in Geography
Selection Criteria: 1) Recipient(s) must be enrolled full time in the graduate program with a declared major in Geography.  2) Recipient(s) must have a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale.  3) Recipient(s) must show financial need. 4) First preference will be given to a Pakistani Muslim student(s) and second to any Muslim student(s).
Award Amount:  $1,000.00

Scholarship Name: Robert E. Pace Memorial Scholarship in Anthropology
Description: Scholarship awards are made on a competitive basis for the academic year, and may be renewed for no more than three succeeding years.  The scholarship is provided in the form of a waiver of fees, $500.00 for each semester, totaling $1000.00.  Any portion of the scholarship not used will be mailed in the form of a check from the Controller’s Office.

Selection Criteria: 1) Must be an anthropology major or specifically plan to be; 2) have a serious interesting a career within anthropology, and must have 3) maintained a GPA of 3.0 or better for the semester or term preceding the award. Renewal of awards will be based upon the above criteria, and active participation in departmental activities.

Scholarship Name: Robert R. Drummond Undergraduate Geography Scholarship Award
Description: This scholarship was endowed by the members of the Drummond family and by friends and former students of Dr. Robert R. Drummond.  The approximate value of the scholarship for 2003-2004 is $1000.00.
Open To:   Undergraduate
Selection Criteria: 1) Recipient should be a sophomore or junior enrolled full-time at Indiana State University who is committed to teach geography or earth science at the middle school or secondary school level.  The scholarship shall apply in the year in which the recipient is enrolled as a junior or senior, respectively.  2) Must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Preference shall be given to superior academic performance.  3) In the event that there are two equally qualified candidates, the student with greater financial need shall be given first consideration.

Selection Criteria: 1) Enrolled as a student at Indiana State University, 2) are citizens of the U.S. and the state of Indiana, 3) have shown ability to succeed in chosen field of study, 4) refrain from the use of controlled drugs and/or tobacco, 5) refrain from participating in intercollegiate athletics, 6) are or were in the upper 25% of their high school class, and 7) maintain a B GPA after high school.

How to Apply: Nominations are referred to the Undergraduate Affairs Committee comprised of departmental faculty members then forwarded to the College of Arts and Sciences for final award determination.
