October 2002: the Graduate Student Association
(GSA) of
April 2006: GSA established Bentil Outstanding Master’s Student and
Outstanding Doctoral Student Awards.
2004-2008: GSA participated in and/or hosted a number of graduate
student related activities such as the annual graduate student
orientations, graduate student town hall meetings, and various social
events.
2004-2008: GSA represented graduate students on the President’s
Council, Graduate Council, and various committees related to graduate
student policy and practice.
2010-11: GSA organized a cultural night on campus. GSA attended NAGPS conference at Cincinnati, GSA awarded Kweku Bentil awards and also provided a number of students with academic scholarships.
2011-2012: GSA members served an various campus-wide committees, awarded 11 scholarships for travel and research, hosted a tent for ISU's homecoming, held a town hall meeting, sponsored a family bowling night, sponsored and decorated a Christmas tree for a family in need, donated to the Ryves Hall Youth Center and began work on a TED conference for the next school year.
