About the ShowRediscover the magic of believing in miracles with Meredith Willson’s musical production “Miracle On 34th Street” one of the most beloved of all holiday classic tales. This heartwarming story by Valentine Davies, originally written for the 1940’s movie of the same name, is brilliantly brought to life in a fully staged musical production. The mood is complete with an imaginative set and the wonderful sound of Meredith Willson’s fabulous lyrics and score including “It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas” and more. The story follows Kris Kringle, an old man who has just been hired as Macy’s replacement Santa. His effect on the customers and commercial rivalry astonishes his employers, especially Doris Walker, the hard-working personnel manager. Not everyone, however, perceives Kris as gentle and well-meaning. When Macy’s self-appointed psychologist, “Dr.” Sawyer, has Kris committed to Bellevue Psychiatric Hospital, his only hope of escape lies with a young lawyer named Fred Gailey. But Fred has Kris Kringle on his side, as well as the United States Postal Service, and with a little help from the power of belief, is able to pull off a true Christmas Miracle. |
