Interim Dean Eliezer BermudezWelcome to the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS). On behalf of the faculty and staff, I salute you and invite you to explore the information presented on our website to learn about our distinctive departments and programs. We have a variety of programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

These are exciting times to be involved in health care and the health sciences. We are proud to serve diverse populations by providing abundant community engagement and experiential learning activities to our students. The CHHS faculty are engaged in research and clinical scholarship to help improve healthcare for people across the lifespan in their home, schools, the workplace, and the community. Faculty and staff are known nationally and internationally and are dedicated teachers, researchers, and clinicians. The excellent academic programs in the CHHS, combined with experiential learning, ensure that our students are well prepared to meet the demands of the competitive healthcare marketplace.

The College offers a broad array of health and human services programs, many of which are accredited and nationally recognized. Through the School of Nursing and its three departments’ (Advanced Practice Nursing, Baccalaureate Nursing, and Baccalaureate Nursing Completion), students pursue degrees in nursing and advanced practice nursing. The Department of Applied Health Sciences offers programs in public health, health administration, health psychology, health communication, human development and family studies, nutrition, and food service management, as well as a gerontology certificate. The Department of Applied Medicine and Rehabilitation offers programs in athletic training, physical therapy, physician assistant, and occupational therapy. The Department of Kinesiology, Recreation, and Sport offers programs in sport management, exercise science, coaching, recreation therapy, and non-profit leadership. The Department of Social Work offers bachelor and master of social work programs.

Within the CHHS, we pride ourselves on excellence in teaching, community engagement, inter-professional education, and renowned scholarship—all of which create a dynamic learning environment for you and your professional goals.
