Benefits:

Students benefit from the program by having the opportunity to interact with Indiana State University’s alumni
who work in the students’ field of study.  Alumni volunteers are able to provide students with information
pertaining to classes and collegiate    experiences that benefited them in obtaining their positions, and which make  them successful in their chosen careers.

Alumni mentors may also be able to answer questions regarding resume development and effective interviewing skills.  In some instances, alumni may be able to allow students to shadow them at work for a few hours or days and offer career and job search advice.

Program Guidelines:

Students and Mentor candidates are required to fill out the essential forms.
Students will be matched with an alumnus who shares similar professional interests and career goals.
Students are required to contact their mentors at least twice a semester.  These contacts may be via phone calls,                 emails, or face-to-face meetings. It is our suggestion that at least one face to face meeting be held during the                        academic year.
Mentors will be able to help their students by facilitating.
