Vision Statement

The College of Health and Human Performance has been an important initiator and contributor to the educational experience at Indiana State University since 1965.

Indiana State University's governing board on Friday (Feb. 23) approved creation of a new comprehensive college to serve the needs of health-related professions. Acting on the recommendations of a campus-community task force and the university's chief academic officer, the Board of Trustees approved the College of Nursing, Health and Human Services, effective July 1.

The College of Nursing, Health and Human Services will:

  • continue to lead the university's movement toward experimental learning, eminent programs and community and international engagement.

  • further develop quality learning environments and assessment  strategies.

  • facilitate a contact with alumni, professional and communities to promote national and international opportunities for continuous development.

  • Develop additional local, state, national or international opportunities for scholarship collaboration and publication.

Upon fulfilling our vision statement, the college's graduates will continue to be recognized as among the most highly qualified and sought after professionals.

Our Mission Statement

The College of Nursing, Health and Human Services consists of the Departments of Athletic Training, Health, Safety and Environmental Health Science, Physical Education, and Recreation and Sport Management.
