Course DescriptionThis course examines contemporary issues emphasizing those of a multicultural nature in the United States. This course is conducted in a democratic spirit, allowing all sides of the issue to be aired and helping students to construct depersonalized, educated, and informed arguments on confusing, controversial, and sensitive issues. The purpose of this course is to begin to equip students with the cognitive, emotional, and interpersonal skills for living efficaciously in an increasingly diverse American society.
