I hope to become a critical care nurse and work in an underserved or needy population.  I want to work where I am most needed and in a place that challenges me!

What hobbies or interests do you have?

I really enjoy being physically active, playing and listening to music, spending time with family and friends, painting, and watching college basketball!

What other leadership roles do you have and/or what else are you involved with on campus or in the local community?

I am a member of the Student Nurses’ Association, President’s Scholar Association, Vice Chair of the Council of Honors Students, active in Residential Life, and volunteer at Light House Mission

What was your favorite Honors class so far, and why?

My GH101: Classical Cultures of Greece and Rome is my favorite Honors class so far.  Professor Bisch is fantastic at telling stories and engaging students.

What do you like most about being an Honors student?

The Honors Program is challenging but also so rewarding!  Honors turns class time into real world application and makes me think in new and exciting ways.  It has offered me opportunities I would not find anywhere else.

What advice do you have for first-year Honors students about easing the transition from home to ISU?

Get involved!  You will have so much more fun your first year if you find things you enjoy to keep you busy!

What advice do you have for first-year Honors students about time management?

Write everything down!  My planner basically contains my entire life.  Also, it is essential to your success to be academically mindful, but make sure you find some fun things to do to keep yourself from feeling overwhelmed.  You have to take a break every now and then.

What advice do you have for first-year Honors students about dealing with stress?

Make use of the Student Rec Center!  You pay for it in your yearly fees, and there’s something for everyone there.  Also, do not be afraid to ask for help.  Please find someone to talk to about being stressed, whether it is a friend, advisor, or family member.

What other general advice do you have for first-year Honors students?

Have fun!!!  Take things as they come and learn to roll with the punches!  Enjoy your time here!
