| A DAY IN THE LIFE... | STUDY ABROAD | EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING | HONORS FACULTY | NEWS | PHOTOS |
JANUARY 2013
For the Honors Program, I chose to opt for the language minor to get my
extra honors credits necessary to graduate.
I am currently a Spanish minor, but will be changing that to a
major when returning to ISU next fall.
I had originally wanted to go to Spain, but decided against that
once I heard a lot of good things about the program I am currently
enrolled in here. So, here
I am in Costa Rica. It has
been one of the most amazing experiences of my life and I have only been
here a month so far. I am
glad that I took the risk and come abroad for a whole semester.
I have done many firsts on this trips and I continue to test my
limits and do something new every day.
It is awesome to be able to learn the language from a first-hand
perspective. I use the language
every day in and out of class and I have already seen an improvement
after a month. I have been
able to volunteer at an orphanage, go to the beach, see a volcano, visit
a coffee plantation, and so many other things that I can’t list them
all.

This picture above is a lookout point I went to
close to Puerto Viejo.
The photos below are from La Paz Waterfall Gardens
where I saw waterfalls, held toucans, butterflies, and saw animals.
