Mission Statement
The Human Resource mission is to provide quality
services and support in employment, training, employee relations,
employee assistance, immigration, benefits and compensation to those we
serve while meeting all regulatory and legal standards in accordance
with University policies and ethics as human resource professionals.
Human Resource staff will promote excellence in customer service by
being responsive, knowledgeable and sensitive to the needs of ISU
students, faculty, staff, candidates and the community at large in a
pleasant, professional and efficient manner.
Vision Statement
With the use of technology and the promotion of excellence in customer service HR will
recruit committed and motivated faculty and staff,
provide training and development opportunities for professional and personal growth,
act as an employee advocate with regard to fair treatment, problem solving and morale,
continually improve department performance through research, planning and assessment,
maintain and provide accurate and comprehensive records for HR decision making, personnel actions, planning and policy making,
recommend and administer efficient use of limited financial resources to provide compensation and benefits that are competitive in appropriate markets,
assist in strategic planning and serve as a change agent within the university, and
establish goals and objectives for total compensation and benefits that allow for accountability within the practices, provide a means to ensure consistent application of plans, support the non-discrimination policy of the institution and legally defend plans and decisions.
