Vision Statement

Human Resources at Indiana State University strives to provide superior service to all University departments and employees who are assisting our students in the pursuit of higher education.  Our goal is to focus on each department's needs by providing timely and accurate information, as well as coordinating and facilitating the efforts of those departments in the recruitment, retention, and training of exceptional employees and with all matters concerning compensation and benefits.
We are dedicated to the success of our employees, and thereby our students, during their tenure at Indiana State University.

Mission Statement

To support the university's mission to educate students to be productive citizens and enhance the quality of life of the citizens of Indiana by providing leadership and service through  comprehensive, effective and efficient Human Resources management, by taking the initiative to

· recruit committed and motivated faculty and staff

· provide training and development opportunities for professional and personal growth

· act as an employee advocate with regard to fair treatment, problem solving and morale

· continually improve department performance through research, planning and assessment

· maintain and provide accurate and comprehensive records for HR decision making, personnel actions, planning and policy making

· recommend and administer efficient use of limited financial resources to provide compensation and benefits that are competitive in appropriate markets

· enhance equal employment opportunity and affirmative action efforts

· nurture a climate that celebrates diversity and fosters community, mutual respect and civility

· assist in strategic planning and serve as a change agent within the university

· establish goals and objectives for total compensation and benefits that allow for accountability within the practices, provide a means to ensure consistent application of plans, support the non-discrimination policy of the institution and legally defend plans and decisions.
