Dr. Badar has been a faculty member at the Indiana State University (ISU) since Fall 2002. Since Fall 2007, he has been the coordinator of the BS in Mechanical Engineering Technology program. Also, he has been the Assistant Director of the ISU Center of Systems Modeling and Simulation since 2004. He teaches courses for the BS in Mechanical Engineering Technology, MS in Industrial Tech, and PhD in Tech Management programs. Before joining ISU, he taught at the Univ. of Oklahoma for two years as a PhD candidate in Industrial Engineering and at K.F. Univ. of Petroleum and Minerals for two and a half years as a lecturer in Mechanical Engineering. He has also worked in industry as a mechanical design engineer and manufacturing engineering intern. He is a member of ASME, IIE, SME, and NAIT.
Dr. Badar has
published more than 20 articles in refereed journals and proceedings
in the areas of coordinate metrology, lean manufacturing, health
care, Supply chain, energy system design, failure analysis, stochastic modeling,
and reliability. The publication also includes a chapter in the
Taylor & Francis Handbook of ISE (2006). He has received
funding from ISU(Lilly Foundation), NATO, Union Hospital, Columbia
House, Tredegar Film Products, etc.
Dr. Badar has served as the director of the IIE Engineering Economy Division (EED) since 2005 through 2007. In 2005, as the EED program chair and a member of the IIE Annual Research Conference (IERC) Organizing Committee, he organized engineering economics sessions.
