Only an hour and a half drive from Terre Haute, Champaign-Urbana is home to the University of Illinois School of Architecture, one of the oldest and most prestigious architectural schools in the country. The School sponsors an extensive annual lecture series that each year brings a variety of internationally renowned contemporary architects and designers to campus. ISU interior design students are encouraged to attend these presentations, and do so. Other local attractions include the Krannert Art Museum and the Japan House.
