Mary Sterling, Program Coordinator & Associate Professor (1999). B.I.D., University of Manitoba (Canada); M.A., Central Michigan University.  Member, IIDA; NCIDQ Certified Designer. Educated at Canada's #1 school of interior design (Interior Design), Mary established and led her own highly successful corporate design firm in Toronto for over twenty years. A scholar and internationally practicing designer, Mary brings invaluable industry expertise and visionary leadership to the program.

Juan Jurado, Assistant Professor (2007). B.Arch., Central University of Ecuador, Quito (Ecuador); M.A., M.F.A.*, Indiana State University (*anticipated Fall 2011).Our newest faculty member, who previously earned his master's degree in interior design from ISU, comes to us after having taught in the interior design program at Purdue University in West Lafayette. With his extensive CAD expertise, Juan brings an holistic design approach that draws from his degrees in architecture, interior design, and graphic design.

Steve Arnold, Adjunct Instructor (2006). B.Arch., Ball State University. Member, AIA. After studying under world-famous architect Stanley Tigerman, Steve worked in numerous design offices in Dallas before returning to establish his own architectural firm in Terre Haute. Steve's local firm, MMS-A/E, specializes in multi-million dollar commercial and institutional projects located throughout the United States.

Jodi Goings, Adjunct Instructor (2006). B.S. in Interior Design, Indiana State University. Member, IIDA; NCDIQ Certified. Jodi joined MMS-A/E, Inc. upon graduation as head of the Interior Design department for the firm.  She is now a partner of the firm, specializing in commercial and institutional projects.  As a practicing interior designer, Jodi brings professional experience into the classroom, exposing students to everyday design opportunities.

Denise Conrady, Adjunct Instructor (2009). B.A. in Architecture/Art/Art History, Rice University. Upon graduation, Denise worked at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston for 3 years. She has just returned to the United States after 21 years in Paris France. There, she worked in several different architecture and design firms before starting her own company in 2004. She brings to her students her 25 years of international experience having worked on projects not only in France but in countries such as Poland, Tunisia and Japan.

Jessica Simmons, Graduate Assistant (2009). B.S. in Interior Design, Indiana State University (2008); M.F.A.*, Indiana State University (*anticipated 2012). As a graduate of the interior design program, Jessica offers a unique perspective into the relationship between student and faculty. Pursuing a M.F.A. in Graphic Design, her vision to take an integrated approach to design encompassing all aspects of the interior environment and evoking a memorable experience through brand expression.
