One of the roles of the
Office of International Programs and Services (IPS) is to assist
incoming and current international students in navigating the
complexities of immigration regulations, helping them achieve or
maintain valid legal status.
IPS at Indiana State
University provides advice, information and services related to your
student visa and immigration status in the United States. Our role in
IPS is to assist you to maintain your legal status; but please be
advised that maintaining your legal status is your own responsibility.
Our website has information about how to maintain your status while at
Indiana State University and other important information to help you
with immigration and SEVIS issues. You can find this information and
under
Immigration Information on this website. If you are unsure of your status
requirements, you should meet with your immigration advisor during our
walking-in advising hours. If your last name begins with A-J your
immigration advisor is
Maria D. Chaqra.
Her walk-in advising hours are Tuesday through Friday 9:00 AM to 12:00
noon. If your last name begins with K-Z your immigration advisor is
Pamela D. Tabor.
Her walk-in advising hours are Tuesday through Friday 1:00 PM to 4:00PM.
All international students, who need immigration advising, are welcome
to visit our office during our Scheduled walk-in hours. Students are
seen on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are unable to attend
walk-in hours please call (812) 237-2440 to schedule an
appointment.
For general questions, you
may e-mail your immigration advisor. Your advisor will respond to your
e-mail within 48 to 72 hours. Include your full name and ISU ID number
