Media advisory: ISU students sponsoring 5K fundraiser run for American Cancer Society
Students in a P.E. 101 class at Indiana State University are organizing a 5K run/walk to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. One of the students in the class, 21-year-old Stephen Brown, has had his own personal experience with cancer, fighting off non-Hodgkins lymphoma and T-cell lymphoma. After rounds of chemotherapy and radiation treatment, he has been in remission for nearly three years.
The 5K run begins Thursday at 4 p.m. at Indiana State University's Marks Field. There is an entry fee of $2, but donations are welcome. All proceeds from the event will go toward the American Cancer Society.
