ISU Family Day is Jan. 29
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The office of Student Life Programs at Indiana State University will present, "Family Day 2005: Take a Walk in Your Student's Shoes," on Saturday, Jan. 29. This annual event is an opportunity for ISU students to show their appreciation for the important role that families play in their education and their lives.
There will be open recreation in the Arena from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., including gymnasium, indoor/outdoor track, racquetball court, swimming pool and weight room. Family members seven years old and older can use the university's climbing wall for free from 1:30-4:30 p.m.
A basketball golf tournament, open to all ages, will be conducted in the North Gym of the Health and Human Performance building from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
From 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. there will be a Favorite Recipe Brunch, open to all parents and families of both residential and commuter students. The menu includes a self-serve breakfast/lunch buffet. Tickets are $5 per person. ISU students may use their meal plan. Advance tickets may be purchased from Student Activities and Programs.
The Cunningham Memorial Library host several events throughout the day including a tour and information event, story hour for children, and an afternoon movie matinee.
Other activities are available at Hulman Memorial Student Union including bingo and the annual Family-Look-Alike contest.
On Saturday parents and family members can enjoy an afternoon of basketball for just $5 per person. The men's basketball game against Bradley University tips off at 2:05 p.m. Fans can catch the women's game against Evansville at 6 p.m.
