Author Paul Loeb Indiana State University Speaker Series Feb. 8
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Author and social activist Paul Loeb will speak at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 8 in Indiana State University's Tilson Auditorium as part of the 2004-2005 University Speakers Series.
A book signing and reception is planned immediately following in Heritage Lounge. Copies of his recent book, The Impossible Will Take a Little While, and his bestseller, Soul of a Citizen, will be available for purchase.
Loeb, an affiliate scholar at Seattle's Center for Ethical Leadership, has spent thirty years researching and writing about citizen responsibility and empowerment-asking what makes some people choose lives of social commitment, while others abstain. He has written five widely praised books - "Nuclear Culture," "Hope in Hard Times," "Generation at the Crossroads: Apathy and Action on the American Campus," "Soul of a Citizen: Living with Conviction in a Cynical Time" and "The Impossible Will Take a Little While."
Loeb's presentation is free and open to the public.
