MEDIA ADVISORY: DIGITAL MEMORY PROJECT UNVEILED AT ISU TODAY
Who: Indiana State University, along with 10 other community partners -- Billie Creek Village, Clinton Public Library, Eugene V. Debs Museum, Native American Museum, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, Sullivan County Historical Society, Sullivan County Public Library, Vigo County Historical Society and Vigo County Public Library.
What: Wabash Valley Visions and Voices, an online digital memory project
When: Oct. 17 at 2 p.m.
Where: ISU Cunningham Memorial Library Browsing Section
Speakers include Terre Haute Mayor Kevin Burke, ISU President Lloyd W. Benjamin III, Myrna McCallister, dean of the ISU Library and Nancy Conner of the Indiana Humanities Council. A reception and exhibition featuring the role the 11 community partners played in this project will follow.
Interview opportunities include Cinda May, project coordinator, on how this innovative project came about and Nancy Conner, talking about how this project can become a valuable resource for Indiana's teachers.
The digital memory project contains artifacts, administrative and personal papers, manuscripts, photographs, yearbooks, maps, texts, oral histories and other audio and video files.
