Why join upward bound

 

Upward Bound provides several opportunities for students to prepare for the next level of their academics by holding two Saturday sessions per month on the campus of Indiana State University. Some activities include:

Academic Advising and Tutoring

In these sessions, students will receive tutoring in classes they are currently taking, as well as advice on planning for their future coursework to prepare for college.

College and Career Counseling

Students will have the opportunity to learn about:

College campus tours

Are you excited about visiting the college campus you are thinking about attending? If your answer is yes, then Upward Bound is the program for you. Throughout the academic year, Upward Bound provides several opportunities for students to visit the colleges and universities.

Saturday Sessions and campus visits to ISU

Join Upward Bound at the ISU Campus for workshops on college preparation and the admissions process. Some activities include:

Summer residential program

This six-week Summer Academy, where students will reside in one of ISU's resident hall, provide students the opportunity to take classes and experience the atmosphere of college life. Best of all--graduating seniors have the opportunity to earn as many as six credit hours that can be transferred to the college of their choice.

financial assistance

Upward Bound students are eligible to earn monthly stipends for fully participating in Upward Bound events. Additionally, many Upward Bound students are eligible for SAT/ACT fee waivers as well as waivers for their college application fees.
