About Educational Talent Search (ETS or Talent Search)

     Indiana State University’s Educational Talent Search program is a federally funded program for Middle School and High School students and High School graduates or dropouts. There is no cost for participating in ETS. 

The program is geared for students 11 years of age through high school graduation, Talent Search will help you stay motivated and contribute to you reaching your full potential. The ETS project at Indiana State University can help you stay in school, plan for the future, choose a career, and gain the training you need for success. Talent Search will help you decide if you want to continue your education after high school, if you want to attend a vocational school, or if a four-year college or university is in your future.  

Indiana State University’s Educational Talent Search serves 600 participants in six West Central Indiana counties-Clay, Parke, Putnam, Sullivan, Vermillion, and Vigo counties.  

Eligibility

If you are interested in changing your future and meet the following requirements you may be selected to participate in ETS at Indiana State. You must:

Show potential and a desire to continue your education at the postsecondary level.
Ø 
Be a first generation college student-a person neither of whose parents received a bachelor’s degree.
Ø
Meet specified income levels.

The ETS program administrative office is housed on the campus of Indiana State University, Terre Haute, Indiana.

 Offering tours of postsecondary schools including visits with teachers, advisors, and students.
 
Ø Conducting workshops on qualifying and applying for financial assistance for school.
 
Ø Assisting in completing the college application process.          
Ø Providing tutoring and support for the GED and pre-college testing including the ACT or SAT.

How To Apply

            If you are interested in being a part of ETS, complete the on-line Pre-Application form. An application package will be mailed to your address. Word and Adobe PDF formats of the application are available online.
