Exercise and Cardiovascular Research Laboratory team

Andrea Brewer

My name is Andrea Brewer.  I am a senior in exercise science.  I am aspiring to get into the Physician Assistant program here at Indiana State University. Being involved in the Exercise and Cardiovascular Research Lab is beneficial to me in that this opportunity enhances my understanding of anatomy and physiology by providing hands on experience with research.

Emily Buxton

My name is Emily Buxton. I am going to be a Senior majoring in Exercise Science. Post graduation I will be attending graduate school to receive my Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Having the opportunity to be a part of the Exercise Cardiovascular Research Laboratory allows me to apply what I learn in the classroom to real life circumstances. Being able to work in the laboratory also allows me to have an experience that will further my knowledge and prepare me for my future endeavors.

Adam Edwards

My name is Adam Edwards.  I am completing my B.S. in Exercise Science. Working hands on in the Exercise and Cardiovascular Research Lab is allowing me to narrow my prospective field choice. I plan to attend graduate school to receive my Master's degree in Exercise Physiology in a progression to obtain my doctorate degree.

Gustavo Sandri Heidner

My name is Gustavo Sandri Heidner. I'm a Exercise Science undergraduate exchange student under the Science Without Borders scholarship in a cooperation between the United States and Brazil. My goal is to proceed in the academic career by furthering my studies through a Master's and a Ph.D. degree when I return to Brazil. Formerly enrolled in a Biomechanics research group for 2 years in my home country, to work in the Exercise and Cardiovascular Research Laboratory has been a great opportunity to increase my knowledge and open new horizons research-wise.

Sara Hochgesang

My name is Sara Hochgesang. I am about to be a senior exercise science major at ISU. After graduation, I plan on getting my doctorate in physical therapy. Working in the lab has provided me with a unique opportunity to not only make myself a marketable PT-applicant, but to gain experience in data collection. It has also given me the chance to learn about subjects not discussed in-depth in the classroom, forcing me to think critically about human anatomy and physiology and their application to everyday life.

Maria Martinson

My name is Maria Martinson. I am a senior majoring in exercise science. My focus is primarily in physical therapy as I hope to get accepted to the physical therapy program at Husson University in Bangor, Maine. Working in the Exercise and Cardiovascular Laboratory allows me to gain life experience that will be beneficial to me now as well as in my future endeavors.

Kaci Smith

My name is Kaci Smith and I am an Exercise Science major with a minor in Psychology. After graduating in the Spring of 2012, I will be attending Physical Therapy School at the University of South Carolina. I believe the knowledge and experience gained thus far from the research laboratory will greatly benefit me in my future endeavors. I hope to continue learning the methodology of exercise and cardiovascular research while at the same time improving my interpersonal skills by working with participants.

Brock Southwood

My name is Brock Southwood.  I'm an Exercise Science major and am in my senior year here at Indiana State University.  After graduation, I plan on attending graduate school to further my education in exercise physiology.  Working in the laboratory allows me to gain experience and enhance my knowledge within the field of exercise physiology.  It also allows me the opportunity to apply what I'm learning in the classroom with real life experience.
