Learning Objectives


As a result of their experience with Leadership ISU, participants will be able to:

  1. Articulate the University’s mission and values and apply these to their work.


  2. Articulate appropriate and effective leadership principles and apply these to their work.


  3. Describe their own leadership styles, strengths, and challenges within a broad understanding of leadership theory and practice.


  4. Develop expanded relational connections with ISU colleagues.


  5. Articulate appropriate and effective management principles and apply these to their work (ex.: how to read and apply budgets).


  6. Demonstrate understanding of Indiana State University structures, functions, and contexts and how those translate to their work within the University.


  7. Demonstrate understanding of higher education structures, functions, and contexts and how those translate to their work within higher education (ex.: funding, governance, legislation, state agencies).


  8. Create short-term and long-term career goals.
