NB: If you already have an Indiana teaching license, you can add the ENL licensure by completing our Graduate Certificate in TESL/TEFL. Licensure will be for the level of your original license.Certificate in TESL/TEFL* (Graduate Level)
Course Requirements:LING 601: English Syntax - 3 hrs. The Certificate can be earned during another graduate program by taking one of the courses each semester for 2 years, or it can be completed in 1 year by taking two courses each semester. Applied Experience Requirement:This requirement is fulfilled by doing one of the following: To APPLY:If you plan to do the Certificate summers only as a distance program: (1) Complete the online application through the School of Graduate Studies , following the instructions there. See the links there for Domestic (U.S.) and International students. (2) Submit official, sealed transcripts of all university-level work, both undergraduate and graduate. Both Domestic (U.S.A.) and International students should have these sent to Graduate Admissions, Indiana State University, Erickson Hall, 218 North Sixth Street, Terre Haute, IN 47809-1904. (3) International students should also have an official TOEFL score (minimum score 550 or computer-based 213 or iBT version 80) sent to the Graduate Admission address given above. Other ways to fulfill the English proficiency requirement are minimum score of 6.5 on the IELTS or 440 on the GRE. Still more, such as attendance at an English-language university, are listed in the Graduate Catalog. If you plan to do the Certificate alongside Master's students, additionally send to the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics, Root Hall, Indiana State University, Terre Haute, IN 47809:
