My area of concentration in East Asian Studies is East
Asian Nationalism, focusing especially on Japanese nationalism.
I have been teaching Japanese language and culture for sixteen years
at several institutions in Indiana, including Indiana University, Rose-Hulman
Institution of Technology, IUPUI, Vincennes University, University of
Evansville, and University of Southern Indiana.
I also taught at Bloomington High School South as a full time teacher
for seven years. I am currently
researching nationalism in education.
