Course work emphasizes hands-on practice and teamwork.
Students have ample opportunities to explore their own creativity in the classroom teaching environment and to work with new technologies in a collaborative learning environment. Real teaching experiences begin as early as the freshman year and culminate in the senior year with an eight-week student teaching experience.
Students are encouraged to become active in student organizations on campus. Careers:
The demand for well-prepared public educators is increasing as Baby Boom generation teachers retire. Indiana State's business education major meets licensure requirements for teaching business courses in Indiana’s junior high/middle schools and high schools.
Business teachers are also in demand by businesses and other organizations seeking individuals who are technologically literate and capable of training new employees in business communication skills and information processing applications. And because business education majors complete the same core requirements as all other College of Business majors, they are well suited for a variety of administrative and information systems positions in business and industry.
Accreditation:
The University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association.
In addition, all programs in the College of Business are accredited by AACSB International—The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, the premier accrediting association of business programs.
Financial Aid & Scholarships
Students have many sources of financial support for their studies, including financial aid, work-study programs, veterans' benefits, and special scholarships for entering freshmen and transfer students.
In addition, the College of Business offers a variety of scholarships.
