Description:
The University's Department of Physics offers advising—as well as a recommended course of study—for students interested in transferring to an engineering program at another university.
The Pre-Engineering Program typically consists of two years of course work that provides the science and mathematics foundation along with a liberal studies component. This course work is consistent with the first two years of study in most engineering programs offered throughout the United States.
After completion of two or three years at Indiana State University, students may decide to transfer to an engineering school to complete their professional training in majors such as civil engineering, computer engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineer, and nuclear engineering. The program also provides a strong foundation for students who choose to move into one of several science majors at Indiana State University.
Prior to beginning course work, students must contact the pre-engineering advisor in the Department of Physics to plan a course of study consistent with course requirements and credit transfer policies of the engineering school to which they plan to transfer their ISU course work.
