Define Acroynym
Mentoring Assistance for Prospective Scholars (MAPS) is a mentoring program that provides academic, professional, and social support to students of African-American, Hispanic and Native American lineage.

MAPS is a mentor-scholarship program that allows students of color financial support while providing on-the-job experience. Research has indicated that students who interact frequently with faculty and other university personal are more satisfied with their collegiate experience than those who do not connect with “establishment”. It is the belief of the MAPS department that participation in our program will enhance the campus environment by providing positive interaction among students faculty and administrative, which provide understanding, appreciation and validation of cultural diversity.
