Scholarship Name: Virginia Carpenter Bradbury Music Scholarship
Description: The Virginia Carpenter Bradbury Music Scholarship
was established in 1975 by Dr. Jack and Virginia Carpenter Bradbury
to assist worthy music students who need financial aid. Dr. and
Mrs. Bradbury are both ISU graduates. Mrs. Bradbury was a member
of the Orchestra, Band, Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra, A Capella
Choir, Kappa Delta Pi (education honorary, Iota Rho Chi (music club),
Kappa Pi (art honorary), Pamarista (upperclass womenÍs honorary),
Student Council, WomenÍs League, Sycamore Players, and Homecoming
Committee.
Open To: undergraduate students
Selection Criteria: The scholarship is open to any music
major with a high GPA, considerable development in performance skills,
and financial need.
Award Amount: $400.00 to $1,000.00
Number of Awards Given Annually: 1
How to Apply: Awards are made based on faculty recommendations
to the chairperson of the Department of Music. This scholarship
is reserved for students with financial need who meet the criteria.
There is no formal application process.
