Scholarship Name: David G. Graesch Memorial Trumpet Music
Education Scholarship
Description: The David G. Graesch Memorial Trumpet Music
Education Scholarship was established by George and Lois Graesch
in memory of their son, David G. Graesch, who passed away in December
1999 at the age of 52. During his 25 year teaching career, David
G. Graesch served as a band director in the Indiana schools of Attica
and Rensselaer as well as a guidance counselor at Mishawaka and
West Vigo Middle School, and in the Dade county Public Schools in
Miami, Florida.
Open To: undergraduate students
Selection Criteria: The scholarship is open to students
majoring in music education who demonstrate outstanding trumpet
performance and overall musicianship, exceptional potential as a
music educator, high academic achievement, and participate in a
wide variety of wind performing groups each semester. Students must
have completed at least two semesters of study at ISU.
Award Amount: $1,000.00 to $1,200.00
Number of Awards Given Annually: 2
How to Apply: The scholarship is awarded based on performance
record and other established criteria. There is no formal application
process.
