Scholarship Name: Henry E. Meurer Music Education Scholarship
Description: The Henry E. Meurer Music Education Scholarship
was established in 1999 by Dr. Eleanor Meurer to honor the memory
of her husband, Henry E. Meurer. Mr. Meurer received his bachelorÍs
degree in music education from Indiana State University and his
masterÍs degree in clarinet from Chicago Musical College. An outstanding
musician, band director and music educator, he was well known throughout
Indiana and the midwest.
Open To: undergraduate students
Selection Criteria: The scholarship is open to junior or
senior music education majors. The recipient must maintain a minimum
overall GPA of 3.0 in addition to exhibiting leadership potential
and superior talent in teaching. Financial need may be a consideration.
Award Amount: $500.00
Number of Awards Given Annually: 1
How to Apply: Application materials are available in the
Music Department office in January and are due in early February.
