A. Without chord symbols, harmonize one folk melody at sight using I, IV 6/4, and V 6/5 chords in simple block form. The melody may be played through once before it is harmonized. Examples will be chosen from major an minor keys with key signatures up to and including three sharps and flats.

C. After five minutes of preparation, harmonize one folk melody using the I, IV, and V chords with an appropriate accompaniment style. Possible styles include Alberti bass, broken, jump, waltz, or any other type compatible with the style of the melody. No block chords are allowed. Report to the examination room five minutes before the scheduled examination time to obtain the melody.
