Katherine Gunn

Katie Gunn is an active musician having performed with DoCha, the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra, the Big Spring Symphony Orchestra, and the Midland-Odessa Symphony. As a chamber musician, Katie played oboe in the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra Wind Quintet. This group performed extensive community outreach in the Lubbock area and commissioned Ferdinand’s Follies, which premiered in 2009. She is the recipient of the Bill A. Nugent Fellowship at the University of Illinois and is in the process of finishing her doctorate. She studied with John Dee. Katie received a Master’s of Music from Texas Tech University studying with Amy Anderson, and a Bachelor of Music Education from Baylor University, where she studied with Doris DeLoach.
