Indiana State University Faculty Wind Quintet

Established in 1967 the Indiana State University Faculty Wind Quintet is one of three faculty chamber music ensembles in the Department of Music. Members of the ensemble are Joyce Wilson, flute; Crystal Barrett, oboe; Sarah Burk Dye, clarinet; Chad Roseland, bassoon; and Brian Kilp, horn. The Wind Quintet performs regularly on and off campus. In addition to an annual campus concert, the group performs on the Department's Contemporary Music Festival, Faculty Chamber Music Recitals and has participated in the recording of several compact discs featuring wind music. Jon Polifrowe, Daniel McCarthy, and Daniel Powers have written works for the ensemble. Recently, the quintet recorded Powers' work Impulse on Elf CD 1011.

The group has performed at The Kennedy Center and the Music Teachers National Convention of the National Association of College Wind and Percussion Instructors, the Ohio Music Educators Association, MENC North Central Division Conference, and the Indiana Music Educators Association. The Wind Quintet conducts clinics and masterclasses and performs regularly in local and regional schools. Clinics and concerts by the Wind Quintet are available without charge.
