Student commencement speaker: Grads have mission to improve world
After completing a bachelor's degree in social work at Indiana State, Brandon Skates has been accepted into law school. Describing how he overcame adversity and thanking ISU for giving him the opportunity to grow as a person, the Greencastle native told fellow graduates at spring commencement they have a mission to improve the world.
ISU grad makes Time magazine list of world's most influential people
Terre Haute native Jill Bolte Taylor, who holds a Ph.D. in life sciences from Indiana State University, has been recognized by Time magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world. Taylor recovered from a major stroke at age 37. She promotes brain donation for research and education.

Spring commencement set for May 3
Indiana State University's spring commencement is set for May 3 at Hulman Center. Ten graduating seniors will be recognized as Hines Medalists for having the highest grade-point average.
