TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Ronald F.
Green, associate dean and director of graduate studies in business
at East Tennessee State University, has been named dean of the
Indiana State University School of Business.
"I consider it an excellent
opportunity to be able to work with the ISU faculty, staff, students
and Terre Haute business community to take an already outstanding
school of business to the next level," said Green, who is
expected to begin his work at ISU by July 1.
Green has been active in the business
community of Johnson City, Tenn., as both an educator and
consultant. He says he is committed to bringing students, faculty
and businesses together through internships and other programs that
will benefit the university and local businesses.
"This is a critical leadership
position for our campus, the community and the State of Indiana. I
am confident that Ronald Green will provide the leadership that will
build upon an already strong foundation to enhance the educational
experiences of our students and build partnerships with the business
community throughout the state," said Steven Pontius, provost
and vice president for academic affairs.
Green has enjoyed a full range of
experiences over the course of his academic career as a faculty
member, assistant professor and professor before becoming associate
dean in May 1997.
"We're please to know that he
has accepted the appointment and we are pleased with his experience
in academic administration and the business community," said
Connie McLaren, chairperson of the search committee.
"We look forward to working with
him as we face new opportunities in the School of Business."
Green said he chose ISU because he
was impressed with the outstanding faculty, staff and students at
the school.
"It appears to be a school that
is on the rise, both locally and nationally," Green said.
"The university has made a definite commitment to moving
forward and moving the business school forward as well."
Green earned his doctorate degree in
industrial management from Clemson University in 1986; received his
MPA from Jacksonville State University (Alabama) in 1982; earned his
MBA from Jacksonville State University in 1978 and his bachelor's
degree from Clemson in 1974.
Green and his wife, Carmon, have one
daughter, Sara, who is a business major at East Tennessee State.
