Indiana State University will be co-hosting the Eunice K Shriver Indianapolis Day of Service along with Special Olympics Indiana and the City of Indianapolis' Department of Parks and Recreation on April 20, 2013. The purpose of the Eunice K. Shriver Indianapolis Day of Service is to provide grounds maintenance support to Indianapolis Parks and Recreation at Garfield Park. As a mirror to Indiana State University's mission and Strategic Plan and in conjunction with Special Olympics Indiana, this service event provides a focused community beautification opportunity where ISU students can network with alumni, and interact with faculty, staff, and Special Olympic Indiana athletes. Garfield Park is a venue that Special Olympic athletes use for practices and competition. Lunch and bus transportation from ISU's campus to Garfield Park will be provided on the day of the event. Last year nearly 100 people volunteered for the EKS Day of Service!
