Terre Haute is working on a comprehensive plan for public art and design to link the newly revitalized downtown to the Wabash River. Terre Haute City Hall lies midway between them and the County Courthouse, and the City Hall area may be redesigned to include public art. The project will include research and community engagement and will result in a Comprehensive Plan with Action Steps, Timeline and Budget. Participants in this project include the City administration, urban planners, artists, area universities, economic development and civic groups, arts and environmental organizations, businesses and citizens. The plan will increase the role of public art to increase livability and cultural access in the Wabash Valley of West Central Indiana.
Art Spaces is interested in feedback from people in the community including students and people living near the park and city hall. A conversation with Mary Kramer, executive director of Art Spaces Inc., is planned for Thursday, Sept. 19 at 2 p.m. at Rhoads hall lounge. Please join us.
