The Eye on Diversity Series will present a screening of the unfinished documentary DREAM: An American Story on Wednesday, Sept. 18 from 6-8 p.m. in HMSU 421.
The filmmakers of DREAM: An American Story have spent the last four years filming Juan Gomez and his struggle to remain in the only country he has ever known. They have documented marches and protests throughout the nation, recorded the failure of Congress to pass immigration reform legislation, and interviewed family, friends, colleagues, students, national and regional politicians, immigration reform advocates, lawyers, ordinary citizens, and youth activists advocating for passage of the DREAM Act. Event details can be found at:
Participate in a discussion of the DREAM Act and the effects of the immigration system today.
