June 19 2008

Kim Donat has been named director of student financial aid at Indiana State University.

Donat has been director of financial aid at Delta College near Bay City, Mich. since 1998. He has also served as registrar at Delta, beginning in 2001. He was previously assistant director of admissions at Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville, Iowa.

"Kim is a seasoned financial aid officer at a school of similar size to ISU. He is knowledgeable of all federal financial aid regulations and understands the importance of expedient and good service to students," said John Beacon, vice president for enrollment management, marketing and communications at Indiana State.

"We are fortunate to have someone with Kim's depth and breadth of experience. He has a proven track record over many years as a director at more than one institution. He holds himself to a set of high principles and values," Beacon said.

"I look forward to working with a new team of professionals at Indiana State as we seek to remove the financial barriers for students wanting to attend ISU," Donat said. "Together we will face the challenges of new federal programs, higher loan opportunities for students and other changes in the student lending arena."

Donat earned a master's degree from Iowa State University and a bachelor's degree from Northwestern College in Iowa. He is married and has two high school age children. He will join the Indiana State staff on July 7.
