Schick Lecture Series begins Sept. 25

A professor of English and Jewish Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Bernard-Donals will present "The Disaster of Memory: Shoah and the Bible." His fields of research include Holocaust studies, British and Irish literature, critical theory and rhetoric-composition.
The Schick Lecture Series in Language, Literature and Lexicography was started in 1988 and is made possible through a bequest from Joseph S. Schick, professor emeritus of English.

Ensemble Chaconne
The musical ensemble will present "Measure for Measure: Music from Shakespeare's Plays." The event is co-sponsored by the Department of Music and the College of Arts and Sciences. It will be held at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 8 in the Center for Performing and Fine Arts Recital Hall.
Kevin Cope
A professor of English at Louisiana State University, Cope will present "The Adjacent Enlightenment: Sidebar Stories in an Era of Main Events" at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 6 in Root Hall A-264.
Hoosier Folklore Conference
With a theme of "Scotland, Robert Burns and the Scottish-American Experience," the annual festival will be held Nov. 20-21. Presenters include Emily Lyle, University of Edinburg; Ian Russell, University of Aberdeen; and Mary Ellen Brown, Indiana University.
