Shenyang Conservatory musicians to Perform at ISU Oct. 20

TERRE Haute, Ind. -- A delegation of musicians from China's Shenyang Conservatory of Music will perform at 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20 in the Recital Hall of Indiana State University's Center for Performing and Fine Arts.

Indiana State will host the Conservatory's Faculty String Quartet, consisting of Xiaoyu Li, violin; Xueke Li, viola; You Li, violin; and Jifu Wang, cello; and Quingshan Lu, percussion professor.

The visiting musicians will perform works such as Yanjun Hua's "The Moon Reflection in the Streams," Dongsheng Zang's "Colorful Clouds," "Kung-Fu" by Deqing Wen and Keiki Abe's "Wind in the Bamboo Grove."

They will be joined by Shenyang Conservatory and Capital University faculty member Tianshu Wang on piano.

Indiana State University signed a cooperative and exchange agreement with the Conservatory in November 2003. In May, the Conservatory hosted the ISU Faculty Brass Quintet for a series of concerts and masterclasses.
