Battle of the Bands April 7

April 3 2006

TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- The Music Industry Association (MIA) at Indiana State University will host its semiannual "Battle of the Bands" from 6 p.m. to midnight April 7 at Recreation East.

The featured bands include Branches, Broken Stone, Brothers in Arms, D-Railed, Minimum of One, St. Thrall, and Summer on Saturn. The top three popular vote winners will receive cash prizes.

A guitar and carrying case, donated by Conservatory of Music, will be among the items raffled off.

The Music Industry Association is a student professional organization associated with the music business program at ISU under the direction of Ted Piechocinski. This fundraiser assists the groups with various music business field trips and their attendance at the International Music Products Association trade show in California every January. It also provides good experience for students who are interested in venue or concert management.

Admission is $5 at the door. For more information, contact Meaghan Herrmann at mherrmann@mymail.indstate.edu.
