Keim, who has lectured to more than 2 million students on more than 1,000 campuses in the United States, Canada, Australia, Greece and Malaysia, will speak to ISU faculty and staff at 10 a.m. and to student athletes at 8 p.m. in addition to his general session.
Keim's lecture, "Leadership for the 21st Century: 10 Characteristics for Effective Leadership," will detail our rapidly-changing and dynamic world and what 10 characteristics are needed to cope with and live in the global village. The program begins at 6:30 p.m. in Dede I and is open to the public.
In addition to speaking to students, he also works with business and industry. His corporate clients include AT&T, IBM, State Farm Insurance, several state human resources and development organizations, and Delta Airlines.
He is the author of several books, including "The Education of Character: Lessons for Beginners," "Spirit Journey," "Life after College," "The Truth about College," and is a contributing author to "Chicken Soup for the College Soul," and "Let Your Leadership Speak." As an educator, residence hall director, educational program coordinator, a four-year Division I varsity letterman in baseball, NCAA approved drug and alcohol education speaker and campus minister, Keim understands students and the major issues facing them.
Keim's visit is in conjunction with the Student Speaker Series, a collaboration between ISU departments and organizations to bring in speakers of student interest. The program is sponsored by Student Activities and Organizations, Student Academic Services, Hulman Memorial Student Union Board, Residential Life, the Missouri Valley Conference, First Year Programs, Student Athlete Advisory Council, Interfraternity Council, National-Panhellenic Council, Panhellenic Council, Student Affairs and Intercollegiate Athletics.
