To apply for financial aid administered by the Indiana State University Office of Student Financial Aid, incoming and returning students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). By completing the FAFSA, students are automatically applying for federal, state, and institutional financial aid. Student's eligibility for need-based financial aid depends on their family's financial situation (which can change on an annual basis). You must reapply for financial aid every year.
All students who want financial aid for the upcoming academic year are encouraged to submit their FAFSA forms on or before March 1 to ensure receipt of the application forms by the State Student Assistance Commission of Indiana's deadline of March 10.
For additional information go to:
www.fafsa.ed.gov is the site students need to use to apply for PIN numbers for themselves and one parent so they can sign the FAFSA electronically, as well as use this site to complete the FAFSA.
www.indstate.edu/finaid hosts a detailed line-by-line FAFSA instructions helpful to anyone completing the form and provides links to over 50 regional scholarships.
