Soprano will perform at ISU Feb. 21

Soprano Helen Pridmore, assisted by Indiana State University music faculty members Kurt Fowler and Martha Krasnican, will perform as part of the ISU Visiting Artist Concert Series at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 21 in the Recital Hall of ISU's Center for Performing and Fine Arts, located at the corner of Seventh and Chestnut streets.

The evening's program will feature a variety of works, including Helen Hall's "Circuits," Luciano Berio's "Sequenza III," "Le Jeu des Citations" by Denis Gougeon, W.L. Altman's "Sonnet," and Andre Previn's "Four Songs," based on poems by Toni Morrison.

Pridmore, on the faculty at Mount Allison University in New Brunswick, has performed across Canada and the United States as both a soloist and chamber musician. With a special interest in new music, she has been a featured soloist at events such as Newfoundland's Sound Symposium, and has premiered many works by Canadian and American composers. She is a member of Motion Ensemble, New Brunswick's new music ensemble, whose concerts include scored music, improvisations, and interactive electronic and visual media. Motion's CD of works by John Cage was recently released by Mode Records.
