16th Annual Band-O-Rama is Nov. 19

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. ? The 16th annual Indiana State University Band-O-Rama concert will be at 4 p.m. Nov. 19 in Tilson Auditorium.

Featured on the program will be the Concert Band, under the direction of Dennis Ballard; and Marching Sycamores, directed by Dan Peo.

The Concert Band will take the stage first to perform Naoya Wada's "On Wings of Magic," "Symphonic Marches for Concert Band" by Richard Rodgers, George Farmer's "Whispers from the Heart," "Wind River Portrait" by Jared Spears, Percy Grainger's "Two Grainger Melodies," and Frank Ticheli's "Cajun Folk Songs."

Scott Harris, Richard Barker and Nate Pollard will serve as student conductors for the Concert Band portion of the program.

The Marching Sycamores will perform traditional selections such as "March On," "Wabash Cannonball," "Back Home Again in Indiana," "Cheer for the Blue and White," and the "Alma Mater" in addition to popular selections such as "Takin Care of Business," "China Grove," "1985," and "The Mummy." The Sycamores will also perform patriotic selections such as "Armed Forces Medley," "Battle Hymn of the Republic" and "God Bless the U.S.A."

Veronica Lattis, Matt Lindley, Lisa Wallyn, Karie Swift, Kevin Swift and Dave Drescher will serve as student conductors for the Marching Sycamores.

Admission is free and open to the public. The ISU chapter of the Kappa Kappa Psi band fraternity will provide a reception following the concert.
